'Tsavorite garnets are the rarest of the garnet family. First discovered in Tanzania in the late 1960's, they are the most expensive form of garnet. This variety of grossular garnet became a popular gemstone via a marketing campaign by Tiffany & Co. in the 1970s. Tsavorites can rival emerald in colour, have good dispersion and brilliance and are usually free from inclusion and are hardwearing.'
